As a Level 4 Advanced Early Years Practitioner, I have an extensive knowledge of childhood development, and am energetic, motivated and passionate about the work that I do.
I have a strong interest in physical development, both in my personal and working life and love nothing more than promoting this in fun, effective and beneficial ways to the children I have the pleasure to work with.
I have undertaken courses such as Special Educational Needs, Autism and ADHD Awareness which I reflect upon continuously within our daily practice within Pebbles.
I thoroughly enjoy messy, sensory play as I believe these activities promote a high level of involvement across all areas of Early Years, and if I am honest - I can usually be found looking messier than the children!
Helping a child achieve something for the first time and watching their face as they believe enough to do it again and again is for me the most rewarding part of working with children. I joined the Pebbles family in January 2017, having worked in Early Years since 2011. I have had the pleasure to work with some amazing children and families over the years who have shaped the reflective practitioner and Manager I am today.
I have a natural interest in the pedagogy of children, in particular Speech and Language - this follows my own Son's journey from his Early Years. It is a privilege to share the journey of the young children who come through Pebbles with their families.
I have been part of the Pebbles team for just over 2 years now and hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education as well as a BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies. I have previously worked and studied in Occupational Therapy units as well as experience in a Pupil Referral Unit.
I believe in a holistic approach to child development and the importance of a secure foundation from which all children can become confident, independent learners achieving their full potential. It gives me great pleasure to follow a child’s learning journey; from settling them in on their first day to helping them become school ready. I enjoy promoting early language skills through singing and sharing books together as well as helping children develop their personal, social and emotional skills through imaginative play. My own interests include the natural world around us and using these materials in fun and creative activities.
