This week has been all about Gerald the Giraffe!
We have thought again about friendship and the way Gerald's friends made him feel. We have also measured giraffes using our rulers, and tried our hardest to identify giraffe numerals hidden underneath sensory glitter and flour. We used our fine motor skills in the creative area to either finger paint a giraffe or use cotton buds and brushes to practice handwriting patterns on them. The different textures were amazing, who knew giraffes trying to dance could get so messy?!
As we had Sports day, we used this as the perfect opportunity to not only stretch tall and long like giraffes but explore an obstacle course and practice different ways to move, jump and land.
The storm which happened on Tuesday evening was the perfect opportunity for us to sit and show how much we have improved with our listening and attention skills. We passed around 'talking duck', taking turns to tell everyone what we could hear and see the night before. The grown ups were so proud that we could independently use long sentences on our own with 'because' or 'and' in them. Some of us used amazing describing words such as 'glowing', 'flashing' and 'banging'.
It's been a busy and fun week, please make sure you stop by and see our Sports Day pictures too! Have a lovely weekend.
