Early Years Curriculum

Early Years Foundation Stage

We believe that all children have a right to enjoy school and succeed regardless of gender, race or ability.

Young children learn best through playing and talking. To the child, work is play. Our children’s learning is promoted successfully by activities specially planned and adapted to meet or extend their individual learning needs. We ask parents to be partners in their child’s individual learning journey and celebrate achievements both at home and in school.

We plan meticulously for outside and inside school and yet we are flexible enough to follow interests as and when they arise. Children are encouraged to be independent and to investigate and explore the world around them through a range of topics.

The curriculum is designed to be fun, broad and balanced to offer continuity and progression. There is a planned programme of visitors throughout the year to reinforce and stimulate learning.

Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

The overarching theme of the Early Years Foundation stage documentation  is to help young children, aged 0-5, to achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing.
